Hi guys, I hope you're all doing well!

This Friday is my graduation ceremony, and to be honest... I'm actually kinda nervous. Not so much about the ceremony itself, but the parade afterwards. My legs are still screwed up from the surgery, so I can only walk at a slow speed, and if I do it for too long then it ends up hurting. So hopefully it won't be too bad, but I'm still kinda worried about it.

I'm going to try and have fun during the day anyway, since it could very well be a one time thing! And it'll be awesome to catch up with my Uni friends again (If they're still in Hawkes Bay, anyway...)

I'm still on recovery mode, and should be until the end of May. Hopefully after that I can start looking for work, though I'm nervous about that too. A nice desk job which doesn't require a lot of heavy movement would probably suit me best for a while as my body gets back to 100% again - though my doctor says that this could actually take a few years.

I guess all I have to do is take it easy for a while. Give me chance to try and improve with my artwork, anyway!

Oh my gosh, how long has it been since I last posted here. Almost a full year, I think?

UH. YEP, SO... Just letting the people who follow me here know that I'm still alive! My past year has been all sorts of hecktic due to Graduation, and a sudden spinal surgery - which I'm still recovering from - which might explain why I, uh... forgot about this place.

I've still been posting over at my DeviantArt account though! It's under the same name as this blog.

Now lets see how many people still remember me here ahaha;

Life
I have't posted much here for awhile due to Real life - I have however, been lurking my f-list almost everyday for new fics and kitty photos :) My love for fandom has suffered a little bit since I haven't watched any new anime (or read manga) since FMA ended. Instead I've been drawing more of my own original characters, and working on Uni stuff too!

If you want to see my new art, you can find it here: http://rueme.deviantart.com/

Otherwise I've been finishing up a video game project for Uni, which is due next Friday (I have to get all my illustration work done soon so that it can be printed on Tuesday - oh geeze.). I'm super excited to start working on a graphic novel (comic book) project next semester after winter break (winter here is around june-august! Weird, huh?), with my own story, concepts, and characters... maybe I'll treat this blog as a work in progress art blog for that later on? Maybe.

I would like to draw more FMA art, but to be honest I figured it'd be more worth my while drawing my own characters... at least that way I could use the illustrations for the comic, and use them for my portfolio too :) Can't really do that with fanart, haha...

So sorry to all the FMA people here who watch me XD; Sorry if I'm disappointing you guys.

Just posting to say, hey! I'm still alive :)

Uni's been draining me a little bit so I've been unable to post here as much as I used to (even though I rarely posted on my blog before either... I was more active in comms), but I still check my f-list everyday <3

I haven't drawn anything for FMA in over a month. I'm still super in the fandom, but it's sharing my love with FF9 and my own characters at the moment too. I sorta miss drawing my boys! I'll probably draw more of them when my next break starts.

This is the art I made for FMA BigBang this year :) It was super fun to work on, and a great challenge since it was a scene I've never drawn before!

The author of the fic is inugrlrayn and she was great to work with <3 You can find her fic HERE.

Uni work~

Two of the original characters I'm going to be working with for a Video Game project I'll be doing the illustrative work for this year.

Connor is a dead boy who was murdered at the age of 17. While his soul moves on to the Spirit world with Teri, his dead body is revived and possessed by a desperate Bakeneko who just wants to find rest and his own way to the Spirit world. While Connors body is in possession by the Bakeneko, his eyes turn a crimson red.

Teri is Connors Guardian, in a sense that she is his personal Grim Reaper. After collecting Connors soul and guiding it on its way to the Spirit World, she discovers what happened to his body. She then decides to help the Bakeneko on his journey to find his personal rest.

The story and two worlds (Mortal and Spirit worlds) that the game presents are huge - and I'm dreading having to write it up for presentation tomorrow XD After that I have Teri, Connor, and Bakeneko's character design sheets to do. Fun!

Connor sorta reminds me of Al a little bit, probably the hair XD; Totally wasn't my intention LOL

So after that last Expression / Style play (which you can see here, I've been practicing more with it and I srsly think I've just exhausted my own motivation to draw, LOL. While I like the new style, my hands just don't seem to want to work with it, and forcing myself to work with a new style really isn't working for me - drawing has now turned into a chore, which is really not what I wanted at all... Especially since I do it full time for Uni.

So...

Shit D:

Maybe I'll just go back to my normal style for now. IDK what's wrong with me. I wanted so much to try something different, and that's what I DID, and I liked the result, but it just doesn't feel natural. I have such a hard time drawing a face in this new style, let alone the whole body. I just can't seem to win, huh?

Well I guess for now I'll just go back to my old anime desu kawaii style. I can't really take a break from art since that's what I have to do every day at Uni, but at least now I can go back to doing something that doesn't feel so awful to work with.

I think I'm just weird ;-; Or my hands are too picky.

More new images for the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood movie has been released. Seems like a new female character and male character will be included in the movie, as well as returning characters from the series.

Images:

http://a-draw.com/contents/uploader2/src/a-draw1_3440.jpg I sorta like her hair. A bit worried about another mary sue character though :( I hope she has a good personality. The guy looks pretty nice?

http://natalie.mu/comic/gallery/show/news_id/46209/image_id/69726 I'd comment more about this poster but man, Ed's body is really distracting me right now ;-; So pretty /grabby hands (Thankyou new girl for stealing his coat. We need to see him without it more often!)

The new characters are:

Julia Crichton (age 16) Voice: Sakamoto Maya

She was born in the area ever called "Miros", and now she is active in the organization called "Black bat" and aiming to make her motherland rebuild. Her parents who were alchemists were killed, then she is alone in the world.

Melvin Voyager (age 26) Voice: unknown

He is a man who triggers a prison break which becomes the dawn of story. He was serving time in jail with a burglary injury cases, but he read a certain news article, then he conspired a jailbreak right before parole. He is an alchemist who uses unknown alchemy.

And apparently the new setting is "Table city" which borders on Creta in west Amestris.

Information was gained from the anime information magazine called "Animidia", and Amber1003 @ DA - thanks!

Two days ago, New Zealand was once again rocked by a huge Earthquake - it was smaller than Septembers 7.1 Quake (which hit the same city), but shallower in the ground, which caused much more damage. Large buildings flattened, roads torn apart, and hundreds of people trapped in the rubble. Those who were lucky enough to avoid being trapped may now be faced with being homeless due to the damage taken on their houses. Water and food is scarce, and some people have been forced to loot unsafe buildings and homes to find food for themselves and their families.

I don't live near the effected area. Christchurch was the city which was hit, including its surrounding towns and villages, which are on the South Island, while I live on the North Island. However, even when not being effected directly, I know how easy it is for something like this to happen where I live too. Seeing the devastation on the News is heartbreaking. However, its still amazing to hear about the stories of help, from New Zealand's own people, AND from countries around the world. I know that countries such as Australia, America, Britain, Taiwan and Japan have all sent New Zealand help - which is amazing to see.

Even if you don't live in New Zealand, if you wish to help, then please do. Donation information is located at the end of this blog.
